A Place You’ll Want to Visit Again Before You’ve Even Left
Perhaps the most memorable part of a journey is not a famous landmark, but a table shared with someone you care about.
The restaurants we choose to feature are places where the atmosphere, the changing seasons, and meaningful conversations become part of the meal itself.
At YUI Studio, we hope to introduce places that are remembered not only for what was served, but for where you were, who you were with, and how that moment made you feel.

A Place You’ll Want to Visit Again Before You’ve Even Left
Some places only need to be visited once.
Others make you want to return before you’ve even gone home.
This is one of those places.
To be honest, I almost didn’t want to write about it.
Not because it isn’t worth sharing, but because I quietly hoped it would never change.
The calm atmosphere.
The thoughtful hospitality.
The menus that travel somewhere new every month.
Some places feel too special to become well known.
And yet, I knew I had to share it.
Because this restaurant is more than somewhere to have lunch.
It is one of the reasons to fall in love with this region.

A Different Country Every Month
Every month, the restaurant takes its guests somewhere new.
One month it might be Morocco.
The next, Vietnam.
Perhaps Italy, Mexico, or another country whose cuisine you have rarely had the chance to experience.

One of the quiet pleasures is checking their Instagram and wondering,
“Where are we travelling this month?”
International cuisine can sometimes feel unfamiliar.
Will it be too heavily spiced?
Will I enjoy it?
Those thoughts disappear surprisingly quickly here.
Every dish is prepared with remarkable care.
The flavours are beautifully balanced, thoughtful, and comforting.
Even when you’re tasting something completely new, it somehow feels familiar.
Perhaps that feeling comes not only from the food itself, but from the sincerity of the people preparing it.
You can almost taste the care in every plate.
Not Just a Meal, but an Hour Worth Remembering
The food is only part of what stays with you.
Outside the windows, the landscape changes with the seasons.
Perched gently above a country road, the restaurant is surrounded by greenery, while large windows open the room toward the distant mountains.
Even from your seat, the scenery becomes part of the table.
Time seems to slow down.
The dishes themselves feel much the same.
Nothing is overly elaborate.
Nothing tries too hard.
Yet every plate is quietly beautiful.
The presentation feels effortless.
The tableware is simple rather than extravagant, carefully chosen to let the food speak for itself.
Equally memorable is the way the staff welcome their guests.
Present when needed.
Invisible when not.
Their hospitality never feels rehearsed or excessive.
It simply makes you feel looked after.
Before long, the plans waiting for the afternoon quietly disappear from your mind.
The only things that seem to matter are the meal in front of you and the conversation across the table.
Perhaps the most memorable part of a journey is not a famous landmark, but a table shared with someone you care about.
There are journeys like that.

Before You’ve Left, You’re Already Planning Your Return
Before You’ve Left, You’re Already Planning Your Return
Most restaurants leave you thinking,
“I’d like to come back someday.”
This one is different.
Instead, you find yourself wondering,
“Which country will next month’s menu take me to?”
And in that moment, your next visit has already begun.
That is why this is a place you’ll want to visit again before you’ve even left.
Before You Visit
- Lunch reservations are not available.
- Monthly menus, opening days, and holiday schedules are announced on the restaurant’s official Instagram account.
- We recommend checking their latest updates before your visit.
- Because the destination changes every month, every visit offers a different culinary journey.
Note
The restaurant featured in this story is Mulino, located in Kinokawa City, just next to Hashimoto.
If you decide to visit, leave yourself a little extra time.
After lunch, wander through the neighbouring farmers’ market, or simply spend a few quiet minutes watching the goats in the car park.

Sometimes, it is these unplanned moments that become the memories we carry home.
And perhaps, this place will become one more reason to return to this corner of Japan.
